Sterk prestasjon i Utfor!
Torsdag morgon stod den store styrkeprøven Utfor på programmet. Etter gjennomkøyringa onsdag kveld var strategien lagt for korleis det norske laget skulle klatre på resultatlista etter tysdagens 12. plass samanlagt i Head to Head og Sprint. Det 17 km lange utforstrekket gav utfordringar med bølgjer og krevjande stryk, og laget fekk såleis nytta elveerfaringa og kunnskap i å lese linjer.
På grunnlag av samanlagtplasseringa så langt, vart laga delt inn i heat på 5 nasjonar med 3 minuttar intervall. Noreg starta difor i heat nummer tre saman med Japan, Danmark, Latvia og Serbia.
Startposisjonen viste seg å vere avgjerande for den første delen av konkurransen. Etter ein uheldig start kom Noreg sist ut av heatet og måtte bruke mykje krefter på å kjempe seg fram. Japan kom ut først og Noreg klarte aldri å hente dei inn igjen. Noreg låg likevel raskt som nummer to og undervegs henta dei i tillegg inn to lag frå heata foran.
Etter ein lang og krevande konkurranse endte Noreg på ein sterk 7. plass med tida 51.24, foran store nasjonar som USA, Tyskland og Russland. Japan overraska alle med tida 49.53, og vann med 5 sekunds margin foran Nederland. Veteran og storfavoritt Tsjekkia tok bronsemedaljen.
Med dette sterke resultatet kraup Noreg frå 12. til 9. plass samanlagt, og ligg no godt an foran laurdagens siste og mest tekniske disiplinen Slalom.

Hei folkens:) tenkjer de har det fint nedi der. Eg heng visst litt etter her, ser da plutseleg at russarane har vorte frykteleg frampå og visste heller ikkje at Danmark hadde jente-lag!
